A braid is a braid. The great irony of a woman’s dilemma — to grow her hair out or to cut it off. 

An answer to remarks such as "grow your hair out / long hair suits you better". After all — if you want to change your life, change your hairstyle. Or sharpen your sense of humour. 

And if we look deeper — a girl’s braid is something sacred. It is a symbol, and an interweaving of the traditions of many generations of women
